of audio is all it takes to clone a voice you’d trust — which is why “does it sound right?” no longer works

is all it takes with AwayAuth: “what’s the code on my screen?” The answer is binary.

How it works

The caller always proves first. Then you prove back.

01

Pair once

Add the people you trust. Each pairing creates a private cryptographic bond between your device and theirs — no shared passwords, nothing to remember.

02

They prove first

When a call comes in, the caller proves themselves before you say anything. Your screen shows a code only the real person can produce — rotating every 30 seconds.

03

Then you prove back

One tap (or a spoken code) confirms you in return. A code you both see — impossible to guess, useless if intercepted, gone in 30 seconds.

For you & the people you love

A safe word your family never has to remember.

“Grandma, it’s me — I’m in trouble, I need money.” Voice-clone scams work because panic beats intuition. With AwayAuth, anyone claiming to be someone you trust verifies with one tap on their own phone — or reads the code on their screen. A cloned voice has neither.

Questions

The skeptic’s FAQ

Why not just use caller ID?

Caller ID is trivially spoofed — scammers display any number they want. AwayAuth codes are computed from a secret only the two paired people hold, so there is nothing to spoof and nothing to intercept that works twice.

What about AI voice cloning?

A cloned voice can imitate how someone sounds — it can’t tap Confirm on their signed-in device or produce a rotating code from a secret it doesn’t have. Verification moves from “does this sound right?” to mathematics.

What if someone can’t use the app mid-call?

Every check has a spoken fallback: each side reads a six-digit code from their own screen. No taps required — designed for every generation.

What if AwayAuth is unavailable during a call?

The rule is absolute: no verification, no conversation. If a caller can’t verify — for any reason, including “the system is down” — hang up and call back on a number you look up yourself. A real person will never pressure you to proceed unverified.

The next call in your name shouldn’t be a scammer’s.
